Looking for homes for sale in norfolk va? Or homes for sale chesapeake va? What about homes for sale Virginia Beach? Sure, there is some great real estate Virginia Beach. However, may I suggest the first and you search for homes for sale Norfolk Virginia?

Why am I pushing homes for sale Norfolk Virginia? Well, because it is beautiful, for one thing. There are actually quite a few reasons for you to consider real estate in Norfolk, Virginia. It is the second largest city in Virginia, only beaten by its neighbor, Virginia Beach. This means you are guaranteed to get a great deal of culture and society in Norfolk, without dealing with the tourists and spring breakers that Virginia Beach has to deal with over March, April and May.

Norfolk is one of the oldest cities in the Hampton Roads area (a grouping of eight other cities and seven counties clustered around the harbor of the same name), and is therefore consider to be an urban, financial, cultural and historic center for the area. Norfolk was the birth place of Joseph Jenkins Roberts, the very first president of Liberia. (if you do not know anything about Liberia, I suggest you look it up, super fascinating!) Norfolk was also the established location for the Jamestown Exposition, which was one of the many world famous fairs of the time. This one was held in commemoration of the first established colony in the United States.

Weather wise, Norfolk is a gorgeous place to be. They only ever average about six inches of snow a year, and temperatures average only down to 32 for colds in the winter, and only around 87 for the heat of the summer. Nothing too extreme on either side, making not only a beautiful, but also a comfortable place to live year round.

Some other pieces of note: the city is known for its Mermaids on Parade. A collection of 20 or so mermaid statues scattered all across the city, much like the horses of Rochester, NY or the buffalo of Buffalo, NY. They also can boast of the Virginia Zoological Park. This is a 65 acre zoo that houses hundreds of types of animals, including the critically endangered Siberian tiger and the threatened white rhino.

Virginia itself is a beautiful place to live. But when considering Virginia, look at homes for sale Norfolk Virginia. It is a city that is historically significant, at the forefront of both culture and society, and embraces its citizens with open arms.
