The Georgia Bulldogs are taking on the Alabama Crimson Tide in the 2018 National Championship Game.
Georgia’s path to the FBS Final was a difficult one as they had to edge out the Oklahoma Sooners in a 54 to 48 double over time victory. Bama’s path was much easier — getting revenge on the 2017 National Championship winners the Clemson Tigers: beating them 24 to 6.
Though Nick Saban’s Crimson Tide is 4th seed in the college football playoff and Georgia is the 3rd, Alabama is surely the favorite to win thanks to their proven track record (five national titles in nine years).
Alabama, however, will be without one their defensive leaders, after Dylan Moses suffered a season-ending foot injury.
The majority of Americans travel 75,000 miles on their feet by the time they are in their 50s, but college football players at some of the best universities in the world put much more pressure on their entire bodies during the year both on Saturdays and during practice days.
According to Bleacher Report, Moses, their SEC All-Freshman linebacker, broke his foot during the team’s practice and will require season-ending surgery.
“I don’t know too much about what really is going on with him, but I mean regardless of what it is, Dylan is going to be a great athlete,” said Bama linebacker Rashaan Evans. “He’s a mentally strong guy, so regardless of what it is, he’ll be fine.”
Alabama is coming into this game with a record of 12 and 1, their only loss coming on November 25th against Auburn. Georgia has a record of 13 and 1, with Auburn handing them their only loss as well — a 40 to 17 defeat on November 11th.
The 2018 National Championship game will be held on Monday, January 8th at 8:00 p.m. on ESPN. The game will be held in Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.
